Power Pro was founded in 2008 with a clear and urgent mission: to make energy efficiency accessible, understandable, and achievable for everyone. What began as a small team of passionate energy engineers and environmental scientists has grown into one of the most respected energy advisory organisations in the country, with a team of over 350 specialists spanning engineering, data science, policy, communications, and community engagement.
We are a not-for-profit organisation, which means that every pound we generate is reinvested directly into our mission. We receive no funding from energy suppliers or equipment manufacturers, which allows us to provide genuinely impartial advice that is always in the best interests of the people and organisations we serve. Our independence is the foundation of our credibility, and we guard it fiercely.
Our History and Journey
Power Pro was established during a period of growing awareness about the twin challenges of rising energy costs and climate change. Our founders recognised that while the technology to dramatically reduce energy consumption already existed, most people lacked access to the expert guidance needed to navigate the complex landscape of efficiency measures, renewable technologies, and available financial support.
In our early years, we focused primarily on providing free advice to low-income households facing fuel poverty — a problem that affects millions of families who spend a disproportionate share of their income on energy. This work remains central to our mission today, and we have helped over 400,000 vulnerable households access the support they need to make their homes warmer and more affordable to heat.
Over the years, we have expanded our reach significantly, developing services for private homeowners, landlords, businesses, local authorities, and national government. We have contributed to the development of major energy efficiency policies, provided evidence to parliamentary committees, and collaborated with international partners to share best practices across borders.
